I went to what was then “new” the born again faze. I didn’t last too long because it just seemed like the pastors were wanna be celebrities but weren’t good enough to make it in music or acting, so what better place to get adoring crowds then become a preacher. I remember him saying unless you profess you’re born agin you won’t get into heaven. At the time 1 of Charlie manson’s cult followers that slaughtered people for him said she was now “ born again”. So according to the preacher she could get into heaven but my nice normal parents couldn’t. I never went back. I too saw over the years how that movement went from helping your neighbors to “ they want to take my guns”.
On a different note, I’ve watched a lot of movies, documentaries & even took a course on the Holocaust. There’s one thread that goes through them all, there is always people resisting and doing good work, they are the ones that remain standing. And that is why I watch. There’s a difference between remaining silent and being silent.
